ORWL advises Fipto on extension of its payment institution authorisation for EMT services

ORWL_ is pleased to have advised Fipto PI on the extension of its payment institution authorisation by the Autorité de contrôle prudentiel et de résolution (ACPR) under the MiCA simplified regime applicable to e-money token (EMT) services.

Fipto PI is a B2B fintech that already holds a CASP authorisation from the AMF — covering custody, exchange, order execution and transfer of crypto-assets — and a payment institution authorisation, both obtained with ORWL_’s assistance. This extension marks a further regulatory milestone, enabling Fipto PI to offer EMT payment services in full MiCA compliance.

ORWL_’s lawyers, including William O’Rorke and Imane Dahmani, advised Fipto PI throughout the process: qualification of services against the regulator’s requirements, adaptation of documentation and preparation of the authorisation file (analysis, drafting of internal policies and procedures), and engagement with the ACPR.
